Episode 115: Visiting the Monsterplex

A new episode of Strangers with Comics appears!  In this installment, besides the usual segments, we welcome the creators of Monsterplex into the Fresno studio.  Monsterplex is the brainchild of Fresno’s own Brock Heasley (Writer) and David Schlotterback (Artist) and was recently accepted to be a part of DC Comic’s Zuda Comics Competition.   We delve into the backgrounds of these guys and what goes into getting your work on Zuda.  Check out Monsterplex at www.monsterplex.com and vote!

In our comics roundup, we catch up on three weeks of comics.  Some of what we liked that did not involve Blackest Night included Transformers, Fantastic Four, Jersey Gods and GI Joe: Cobra II.  We didn’t so much care for Action Comics, JSA and Blackest Night: Starman.

Episode 100: A House Full of Strangers

Episode 100!  For this special episode of Strangers with Comics, we have a full house of guests for the entire episode.  First up we have forum member and fellow podcaster Ryan McCleese.  Ryan has a new podcast called “A Dingo Ate My Podcast” which you can find on iTunes or at http://dingoatemypodcast.blogspot.com/ .  Next up we have New York artist Javier Winnik.  Javier’s work can be found at http://thelearningcurv.deviantart.com/ .  Finally we have DC exclusive artist of Supergirl, Jamal Igle (http://jamaligle.com/).

We go through Week in Geek, TV and Movie Roundup and weekly comic picks together but our main subject is Video Games.  Because the banter is quite funny, we are sending this out as recorded with minimal editing.  For a portion of the recording Jamal’s microphone gets a little wonky but it recovers soon after so hang in there.
